ARIF BACCHU
Arif, M.F.A. and B.F.A. from Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, is a contemporary artist specializing in fine art creation and concept development. He currently serves as Gallery Executive at Gallery Cosmos, Dhaka, and has professional experience including character design at Hutum Studio and socially engaged projects such as firecracker awareness paintings.
His work has earned multiple awards, including 3rd Place at the 28th Berger Young Painters Art Competition (2023), the SM Sultan Award, and the Shafiuddin Ahmed Award. Arif has exhibited nationally and internationally at events such as the 11th Geoje International Art Festival, South Korea, and online exhibitions like “Emozioni 2021,” demonstrating his commitment to artistic experimentation and cultural dialogue.
In 2020, he represented Bangladesh at the 13th South Asian University Youth Festival in India, presenting works reflecting the nation’s cultural identity. Alongside his studio practice, Arif engages in research and academic writing, including his thesis “Nazrul Study of Portraiture on Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University,” positioning his practice at the intersection of contemporary art, cultural inquiry, and scholarly investigation.
